A Note from Molly ::
These items are either recent reads which I thoroughly enjoyed, all-time
favorites which are frequently discussed in classes & workshops and/or
even the
admitted guilty pleasure. If you have a favorite which you think I'd
love, please leave me a note on the Message
Board. I'm always looking for a good read or a great
film. I haven't had a chance to get all my favorites on here yet, but,
in time, I will. Here's a start.
Here are some materials from my show, A Most Notorious Woman, so
naturally, they are on my favorites list.
Therefore,
one of my favorite books is:
Granuaile: Ireland's Pirate Queen - The Book,
1530-1603 - by Anne Chambers. It is the source material for
my play, A Most Notorious Woman.
[Link is coming, please check back soon, in the meantime, you can purchase
it by clicking on the amazon icon to the right.]
Two of my favorite CD's are also here and
we'd
love for you to buy them. [Martin's CD image links to his site but
Shaun Davey's will be updated shortly to link to amazon. In the
meantime, use the amazon link to the right to purchase the CD's, DVD's or
books at this site.]

The
Artist's Date Book:
A Companion Volume to the Artist's Way By Julie Cameron This is a recent read which I found to
be a great guide for "filling up the well", which my regular
students will hear me say frequently and which most actors consider a
luxury they for which they don't have the time. Take the time, give
yourself a gift, refill the well so it doesn't run dry when you least
expect it.

The Apartment This is an all-time favorite in which I find
the essential elements of great
drama. You'll hear me refer to it in terms of dramatic structure
and negotiation.
Lord
of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
[Platinum Series Extended DVD] This was a gift from my husband and
while I'm
not sure if it might be a guilty pleasure, I also find it to be an
excellent film of some of my most dearly beloved books. I never
thought it could be done, but Director Peter Jackson reached right into
my imagination and put it on the screen. The extended scenes on this 4
DVD set are terrific and I love all of the insider notes on
how the film was made. I grew to admire Peter Jackson
immensely while scouring through the fabulous hours of extra
materials.
