An accomplished actor, director, teacher and playwright with
over 30 years of experience in the professional theatre,
Molly is a member of both Canadian & U.S. Actors’ Equity and
the Dramatists’ Guild. Molly is an Associate Artist with
the St Lawrence Shakespeare Festival where she serves as
Education Director, Casting Director, actor and director.
Molly’s
education includes: a theatre degree from University of
Santa Clara and an MFA in acting from California Institute
of the Arts. Throughout her career, Molly has consistently
pursued advanced and specialized training, which includes
some of the finest institutes, teachers and companies in the
US, Europe & UK: Libby Appel of Ashland, the Oregon
Shakespeare Festival, Robert Benedetti of The Actor At Work,
Patrick Stewart, Julian Curry & Paul Whitworth of the Royal
Shakespeare Co., Cate Fitzmaurice & Peter Sellars of La
Jolla Playhouse, Susan Cox of the Shaw Festival & Vancouver
Playhouse, Kimberly White & Jonny Epstein of Shakespeare &
Co., The London Shakespeare Workout. Molly has studied
theatre, art history, opera staging and commedia dell’arte
work in Europe including cities like Florence, Vienna,
Paris, Athens, Dublin and London.
Molly
has been Director of the Green Wood Studio in Seattle for
over 13 years and has taught her workshops – Auditioning,
Improvisational Writing, Scene Work, Shakespeare - in
Chicago, LA, NY, Seattle and internationally in Vancouver
BC, Toronto, Paris, Ireland and T’bilisi Georgia. In 2004,
she was the acting instructor and Stage Director for the
Astoria Music Festival, teaching acting for their academy
and directing opera, including Magic Flute,
L’Histoire du Soldat and an original concept of
Shakespeare In Word & Song. In July of 2002 & 2003,
Molly was invited by the prestigious New York University to
teach Classical Scenes & Monologues for a new program in
Paris. Molly has produced the Actors’ International Retreat
Experience since 1999.
Molly
has performed in film, television, voice-over and the
theatre all over the west coast including: La Jolla
Playhouse, New Mexico Repertory Theatre, Seattle Repertory
Theatre and once at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Her original play, A MOST NOTORIOUS WOMAN, based on
the life of the last Irish queen, Granuaile (Grace
O’Malley), has taken her to NY, Colorado, San Jose, BC &
Ontario, Canada, Tbilisi Georgia, and Ireland – including a
command performance for the Chieftain of the O’Malley Clan.
